Food is tasty. Satisfying portions. Fresh ingredients. Had the beef drunken noodle, crispy duck salad, garden rolls, and fried gyoza. No complain but I will warn the the sauce on the crispy duck salad is an acquired taste. It's heavy on the fish sauce. Service was not impressive. They did seem a bit unorganized and disinterested when you coming in but they were good about not letting your food sit, which I appreciate so much. They asked if I wanted chopsticks, which is another plus. I did take out this time but I don't see myself dining in anytime soon.
The food is always good except for a few times when the meat wasn't well seasoned but overall I get the same dish. For the 1-3 yrs I have been going here routinely they have yet to update the prices in their menu! So when you order food for one price, your bill has another price and they say the price has increased by a dollar. Well please take the time to update your menu in the restaurant AND online! I have patronized faithfully for a long time it this is ridiculous.
This restaurant is a super easy walk from the Sheraton a few blocks away and is open until 9:30pm most nights. The ambiance is quaint, but nice. I liked the music choice of the staff. The service was to the point, and they seemed to be polite about us cutting it close to closing time. I ordered the pad see ew and sweet and sour chicken. The pad see ew was quite good. The chicken was cooked well, and the sauce was sweet and savory. It was not too oily or smoky. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty good, as well. It was white meat chicken (which I love), but the batter was just a little bit burnt and tasteless. It was still fairly good, but the sweet and sour sauce could use just a little more thickness and sweetness to it. It was a bit watery and didn't adhere to the chicken very well. The dish was still pretty good, though. I also ordered some spring rolls, which were extremely good. The filling tasted fresh and light. They cut them open so that the inside doesn't scorch your mouth when you try to eat it. Our work team was pretty happy with their meals. We tried to order some dessert, but they were out of the mango rice and some other items. We ended up with the coconut ice cream, which my coworker really liked. My coworkers also particularly loved the calamari appetizer.
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the food was AMAZING! We found street parking right outside the restaurant. The ambiance is quiet and a small dining setting, but still great for dinner. I started with the Thai Iced Tea which was great! For entrees we got ginger broccoli tofu, basil chicken (pad kra prao), and chicken pad Thai. Everything was SO GOOD. The basil chicken we got two orders, one medium spicy (I think this is the standard) and extra spicy. The medium spicy was perfect for me but the spicy was great too! The pad Thai was flavorful, highly recommend (I think this was our groups favorite !!)!!! The service was fast and our food came out without too long of a wait. This will definitely be my go to Thai spot! I preferred here over Sisters Thai.
Fantastic for many years! Sorry to hear they will close due to the demolition of the whole block coming up. Happy to report the owners have bought Zento's so we will still be enjoying their excellent cuisine and superior service! Mike & Kristi
Two of my friends absolutely love Thai cuisine. It was time to catch up with one of them & she recommended Thanida which is her preferred local Thai spot. We dropped in without a rezzie on a Sat evening around 7:30pm. This is a no frills cozy restaurant. It was full, but we were able to snag a table for 2. There were a lot of good food offerings on the menu. For apps we did the edamame & shrimp rolls. My gf who is also a chef ordered the God Bod. I ordered the crab fried rice. Service was solid and the food was comforting. There was a black out in that entire North Old Town corridor. Staff encouraged patrons to be calm. Fortunately I had already taken my food pics & paid. Note: There's a trendy new Thai restaurant around the corner...however the locals prefer Thanida. Check them out!
We went here for lunch and it was a hit! We had the sampler to taste different food options as we'd never been here before & wanted to see what they had to offer. The peanut sauce was EXTREMELY good, so addictive -- everything tasted fresh. My drunken noodles were delicious, a little spicier than I'm accustomed too but I actually enjoyed that. My husband said his green curry was wonderful too. The ambiance is serene and actually pretty polished for such a small place, and our servers were very attentive and professional. Really hit the spot on a cold, windy winter day!
Thanida has a great selection to choose from with a decent price for their offering. I had the tofu drunken noodles and the flavor was right on point for what I was craving. The service is kind of slow and I wouldn't recommend it for groups.
